Elijah was the only remaining prophet of the Lord as mentioned in 1 Kings 18:22 and he still obediently proclaimed God’s power despite being alone. Over the past week, our campers and staff alike have been reminded of what it looks like to claim God, and who He has made us to be despite our circumstances. Elijah, Paul and Joseph were all examples of followers who obeyed God, even in the “unknown” or “in-between,” despite facing trials and disappointment. We long to be women who faithfully trust our Heavenly Father.
Our campers have wonderful examples of women who are doing this very thing. All week, our counselors have served, loved and cared for their campers. Counselors are the true MVP’s of camp! They lead activities every afternoon, stay on top of our schedule, help clean the bathrooms and so much more! Their servant hearts show the love of God to each of their campers and is an inspirational display of service!
The camper evaluations this week also reflected how much the campers love their counselors! Wahoo!
This week, we awarded our first EVER rock climbing badge! Congratulations to Miss Karis Moody for your diligent work to complete the requirements over this week! Our Marcy cabin counselors, Miss Olivia and Miss Caitlin, awarded Aviya with an Honor Camper award. Friday night is always a fun ending to reflect on the ways every person has exemplified Christ. Every cabin has been challenged to apply what was learned as they go forward and leave Tapawingo.
We still had rain this week but we also had a lot of sunshine! From the excitement of Sunday afternoon registration day to Friday night banquet, session two was a gift! Thank you for your continued prayers over this island, our staff and our campers! We ask for continued prayers, believing Tapawingo will have a COVID free summer, and now onto Session Three!
