If you happen to be skiing or paddling around the island, you may have noticed all the green and red clothing being worn, the branches hanging in our hair, and the Santa hats bobbing on the heads of campers & staff members. Surprise! It's CHRISTMAS IN JULY week!
We are off to a great start here at Tapawingo. On Sunday night, we ventured out to the “Gospel Rocks”, our special spot to listen to Miss Joy share a message on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Monday was full of activities, as campers spent the day waterskiing, canoeing, sailing, fishing, as well as participating in archery, crafts, Bible, campcraft, wildlife, and banana boating. Later in the evening, the counselors then gathered their cabins for “cabin bonding,” a time of silly games, face painting, slip-in-slides, etc.
Today cabins competed to find the most presents hidden across the island, in “capture the flag style,” in order to win points for cabin-cleanup! Additionally, the former Mets player, Mickey Weston, joined us to speak at vespers, encouraging us in our walks with the Lord. Tomorrow hits the halfway mark to Session 5, but no sad tears yet, as we still have so much ahead to enjoy!
With Love,
Miss Ashley Kate
